One of the reasons we came to Michigan was because Staci had heard of Shipwreck Point. Well she was right in the Shipwreck arena. This location of Lake Michigan is truly one the most dangerous places. The combination of location, water depth, and Storms ripping across the Lake have been deadly. The Museum pays homage to those ships and is worth seeing. They have a building that shows how they rescued people and they saved like 600 people in their history. Give you an idea how many ships went down. A lot.
They actually raised the Ship Bell on the Edmund Fitzgerald and have a film on how and why they did it. We both touched it.
Staci is smiling big because she is sitting on history. A bench raised from one of the very first shipwrecks. The water of Lake Michigan really preserves the wrecks amazingly well.
Through her hair in her face Staci is asking do you have me touching Lake Michigan. Yes Baby I got the photo.
If you never make it there this photo has all the buildings located on the point.
